I'd like to see an option to group similar QuickList entries in a common category so that I don't have to spend time scrolling and searching for similar entries.

Hi, wondering if while entering a new quicklist item, enter the desired number, and then have all items that follow that number drop down in the list (or up by a number) so that like items can easily be grouped instead of repositioning afterward with the 'change the order' key.
Thanks :)
So instead of alphabetizing Quicklists ... which I wouldn't use at all. Nesting Quicklists would be extremely helpful ... especially in the addenda where I have multiple variations of comments for different categories of comments.
After reading these requests I had to add my 2 cents.. It's clear that changing the structure of our Quicklists will make our software standout as a more functional and user friendly software. Whether it's by implementing 'Nested Quicklists' or some other method, the aim, to streamline the management of various comments and responses. This will undoubtedly make the software better for both the form and the addenda in terms up adjusting existing and adding new comments.
Given the number of comments about the Quicklist organization there needs to be some improvement within the software. While mirroring the folder structures found in systems like Windows might not be the ultimate solution, it can serves as 1 way worth considering. The ability to easily navigate, organize existing comments and to add and manage new ones will save all of us a considerable amount of time, reduce frustrations and help to create a better end product by boosting efficency and productivity. Investment into the software's functionality is going to have a huge impact on user satisfaction. I to would like to strongly urge the development team to prioritize this feature." Taylor
To Beta management & developers, please emphasize that the transition function needs to be simple and not require re-entering all of the comments… e.g., we should be able to highlight any number of comments (or entries) and move them to a nested position. Similar to creating a sub-folder in “Windows Explorer” then highlight some of the files in another folder and move them using “cut & paste”.
Even if we have to go to C:ProgramDataalamodeWinTotalQuicklists????? and move them manually.
If by "nesting" you mean having the ability to create a Quicklist Heading for each section of the 1004, ie..Neighborhood, Site, Features, Cost, Reconciliation..., then be able to place the comments that pertain to that topic under (nested) the heading. So, we could click on the heading and all of the pertinent comments would expand to the side for easy selection, like sub-directories under directories in file explorer. This would make the field overflow function more useful because when the overflow to the addendum occurs - the field specific comments are no longer accessible (unless you go to the "All Quicklist Items" but then it's impossible to find the one you want. This would save considerable time and eliminate the frustration of searching for a comment.
Yes ... sort of. But I'm not sure it should be section specific. Having a title/folder with several "nested" responses underneath it is the idea. I'm really thinking about in this for the addenda ... but it would work in the form as well. So I have several responses to deal with thing like my comps exceeding FNMA guidlines for proximity, date of sale, GLA, et and gross adjustment, etc. Organizationally they would be under one title. I have several comments regarding zoning ... and every municipality is different. So if I could have a Zoning title, and nested responses for each municipality it would save a lot of time. Samthing with rebuilds for non-conforming zoning. Or things that I have saved but don't come up frequently zoning, a hoarder comment, agricultural comments, going concern comments. They get used a few times per year but I've created specific wording that I think is valuable and want it saved ... I just don;t need to see it in the main Quicklist every addenda I write. If it was nested it would be "hidden" but available any time I need it.
I agree, but am thinking ahead. The new forms are going to have "expanding" text fields for each section which will do away with the need for long text addenda. I'm sure this new feature will take the developers a while to intigrate into Total. But, the sooner - the better.
That is fine if the long form addenda goes away. The comments still have to go someone. It will just become a question of which expanding text field you decide to put them it. And I am guessing that the Quicklist "engine" is the same for individual fields or the addenda. It looks the same and functions the same. I don;t know why they would write it twice. That isn't how programmers work. They reuse everything the can ... it is called object oriented programming. Once they have a routine ... it is reused as often as possible.
I like this idea of Nested Quicklists! That would make them much easier to utilize. Perhaps allow us to select "Show by Section" as the default with a tab to "Show All" when we need to see other responses outside that particular section.

This would be really helpful. I'd like to see this feature added too.
