Ability to edit, copy, and move QuickList items

C
Chris Carnes

There’s no easy way for us to modify, edit, or delete any of the entries. Once you create a QuickList item, it’s there pretty much forever. The only way I know to delete anything on the list is to call into the beta line and have someone log into my computer and do it for me. This is one of the things that’s been missing from the program since its inception!

There is no way to edit quicklist items once they are saved. It seems stupid to have to delete an item instead of making a quick revision. Please fix this.

Do we have any update on this request? Would like to hear from development if the QL will or will never be tweaked.

Thank you for your patience. Right now all hands are on deck working on the new UAD environment. It will be much more possible to develop tools once we have stable footing there.

Trying to clean up several Quicklists that have way too many outdated entries. Right clicking on the entry, hitting the red X to delete, then confirming that I want to delete it is taking FOREVER!! Please move this to the TOP of your updates needed list! Thx!

Chris, Not true. An item can be removed by right clicking on it then selecting "remove". It can be edited by entering the item into a form, make the desired change, then resaving it in the same number. If you have any other questions, you can email or call me. QuickList improvements are being researched and this is on the list to consider while building the new UAD environment.

I agree, being able to edit a quick list item would be helpful.

For some reason my quicklists have this tag appending to each of them. I removed them before by going through the painstaking process of copying each one into note pad then back to a fresh total file and then overwriting the quicklist which is a pain. Is there a way that we can edit our quicklists better and also see the tags associated with them?

I'm going to have a Sr. Tech reach out to you about this.

new construction when the plans and specs run 50 or more pages, and many aren't necessary to the report.

C

Carl Bickford

Do we have any timeline on when the quicklist will receive some sort of attention from development? We all love what you are creating but I can say that 32 comments on this page should suggest that the new model should be in production. Please upgrade the quicklist soon. Carl Bickford

C

Now 77 Comments and growing. Seems to be top of the list. Any word when this might get some attention?

K

Kyle Gresh

Can there also be a way to save the font type, size, and formatting to the quicklist option so that it stays with it at all times?

G

Gary Scott

I like the suggestion to add Nested and Share between other computers! Any chance of using A.I. to help us find, sort, identify and organize similar comments? I assume it would be impractical to add within Total, but what about a stand along app that looks at the stored data and manipulates/organizes it outside Total?

Also to more easily have this directly sync with your T4M QuickList

This is an official request in Upvoty to re-work the quick list and make it more robust. Quick list utility for adding, deleting, editing, and organizing Quick list items. Search feature. Nesting, quick list in the addendum doesn't stick to the alphabetical order. favorites list where we could have 10-20 of our most used quick list. reorganize easier, and even delete multiple quick lists at a time

D

David Moore (VA#5000929)

I vote for this

C

Carl Bickford

Thanks David. I did receive an email letting me know that I had a response in upvoty. Hopefully this will gain traction.

I'd like to search. move, and combine my QL's. With over 20 years of comments in my QL's, it's becoming more difficult to use them!

R

Robert Abbott

And I'll add something ... NESTED Quicklists... so I can have categories of comments to keep things organized and to a manageable list. I list of 100 comments makes it impossible to find things!

A separate dialog box or pane dedicated to creating, updating, arranging and deleting a single or bulk entries would be nice.

We are able to reorder the quicklist and trim it, why not have the ability to hit the delete key right here? When an entry is deleted, existing entries should move up without blanks. (self trim)

The Quicklist box has a delete function. Just click on the comment to be deleted then click on the red X. To modify an entry - just put it in the form, make the desired changes, then resave it to the same number.

With well over QL 200 entries and a limited way to arrange, remove, or organize that is rather difficult at best, this would be a great improvement. As a reminder, many of the betas have been asking for this for quite a long time.
